holiday cheer

Well, we made it home after a trip up to Oregon for a wedding and a week with Tyler’s brother, Drew, and his family. I of course am now just getting to posting anything about our Christmas holiday festivities, but…I do have a really good excuse! My laptop died the day we got home, not sure why. We ended up getting a new computer on Wednesday. I’m still hoping to get the laptop fixed because I love the flexibility of having it, but at least now I am not completely computerless.

Our Travels and Christmas

At the Portland Temple
(Tyler and I had an opportunity a few days later to attend a session where the officiator was the same man who officiated the session when Tyler went through the temple for the first time – 11 1/2 years ago.)

At the Portland Children’s Museum
(Clifford was in town for a visit, we missed the real Clifford, but the kids didn’t know any different.)

Decorating Gingerbread houses
(Ava was really into it. She decorated all surfaces and was the last one at the table – long after the others had lost interest.)

Acting out the Nativity
(All the kids dressed up and acted out the Christmas story. Halle was Mary, Asher was Joseph, Ruthie was a dog, Ava was an angel, and the babies were just there).

I don’t have any pictures of Tyler and I at the wedding, but it was truly wonderful to see our good friends and their family. The bride looked radiant and was glowing with happiness. It was definitely on of the treasured moments!

We had a wonderful time with Drew and his family. The cousins had so much fun playing together. Halle and Asher got married (twice – the second time because the first time they didn’t do it right). One of these days we’ll fill them in on the “cousins don’t marry cousins rule” but for now it was so funny to watch them play husband and wife (we’re grateful that it would appear that we’ve set a good example – they were so loving to one another). Ava and Ruthie had fun together as well and we had so much fun watching Cambrie and Zoe “play” together (it was fun to see the differences between these two little ones). Thank you Drew and Kyndra for spoiling us for the week and letting us join you in celebrating Christmas week. We can’t wait to see you again! Next time our house?
